Named for the famous Savoy jazz label, this very tight-budget renovation of a boxy World War II military housing block, across the Anacostia River from the new Washington Nationals baseball stadium, was turned into a 62 unit Condominium community. The developer’s intent was to have the renovated one and two bedroom units sell from the mid $100’s, and tasked FORMA to bring some of our “NorthWest DC design sensibilities and adjust them to SouthEast DC pricing structures”.
FORMA added some exterior elements to the building entry, re-vamped the courtyard with a new circulation path and an outdoor garden pavilion, and renovated the 2 Lobbies, public corridors and the typical units. This project was featured in Multi-Housing News.
