FORMA Design
was a finalist in a national competition for the design of the
US Headquarters for FILA USA in Sparks, Maryland. Working within
the context of an existing building on a 110 acre site, FORMA
took its cues from city planning for the design of 72,000 SF of
office space. The building's atrium was designed as a piazza,
a center of activity where people gather to meet and work. The
circulation paths became the avenues and boulevards of the city,
connecting main spaces and ultimately leading to the individual
workspaces, organized as neighborhoods.
