FORMA Design was established in 1994. Our studio is located in downtown Washington, DC, in a vibrant neighborhood of young entrepreneurs.

We take on challenging design projects that range in scope from Architecture and Interior Design for residential and commercial spaces to Graphics for corporations and individuals, from custom furniture and lighting to Marketing campaigns, Advertising and Environmental Graphics. We address Architecture, Interiors and Graphic Communications issues to provide "integrated design" solutions.

Our awards include, among others, a Washington Chapter/American Institute of Architects award for achievement in Interior Architecture, and American Advertising Award (ADDY) for Sales Promotion, and an award from the Metropolitan Washington and Virginia Chapters of the Associated Builders and Contractors. We have been published extensively in the Washington Post, Contract Design, Interior Design, Additions & Decks, Architecture/DC, Home+Architectural Trends, Renovation Style, Remodeling Trends and Synthesis Magazines, and have been featured on HGTV.

Andreas Charalambous, AIA, Principal
 
Andreas was born in London, UK of Greek/Cypriot parents, and grew up on the Mediterranean island of Cyprus. He studied Architecture at Cornell University, under a Fulbright scholarship. He worked in Washington, New York and London with previous employers, before co-founding FORMA Design in 1994.
 
His work with previous employers include, among others, the interiors of the British Aerospace Headquarters in Herndon, VA, Credit-Suisse First Boston Headquarters in Canary Wharf, London, Crystal Gardens Mixed Use Development and Residential Tower in Surabaya, Indonesia and the Overseas Private Investment Corporation in Washington, DC.
 
He brings to Forma Design a strong and diverse background in the design of commercial, office and retail spaces, single and multi family dwellings, stage set design, product design and graphics. He also pursues a career in the fine arts and has had several group and solo shows featuring his painting and photography.
